Found a bit more info, still a bit confused though!
It's part of Selfridges' "Denim Rocks" event, and I'm guessing the two sets are going to be one at each store (there's two in Manchester) but hell knows. Ten Bears are playing too and they're mint, hopefully they'll be playing the same day/store. Reckon I'll just head up into the city a bit early on the day and see what's happening. I'm intrigued!

Courtesy of Stuart... For those who are coming to see us play at Selfridges on Sunday theres been a slight change of plan...We're playing 4x20 minute sets in between the other goings on...1st set is at 12.00pm, 2nd at 12.40pm, 3rd at 3.30pm and 4th at 4.00pm. Is that confusing enough for ya?I probably won't get to see them now though

Just sent this email to Selfridges.
Denim Rocks? Well what a misnomer!
Denim Rocks - a chance to promote the range of demim products in store with an accompaniment of ROCK music.
Your Manchester Exchange Square store found a fantastic band, You Animals, and after a few hitches they began to play. People stopped to listen, children were dancing, people coming up and down the escalators with smiles on their faces. The ideal time I would have thought for your sales advisers to walk amongst them with promotional leaflets for the goods on sale...
But no. After only 3 songs the band was asked to stop playing. They were too loud for the delicate ears of some of the Selfridges' clientèle. You Animals should have played several 20 minute sets throughout the afternoon and to be limited in this way was a total shock. They are a band with a loyal set of fans, some of whom had driven over 2 hours to see them perform. I myself came straight from a church service without lunch because I know what a brilliant band they are. I saw people who came to watch them but arrived too late to see the performance. Friends of mine (who regularly shop in your store) were looking forward to something a bit different later in the afternoon and would have seen only an empty platform.
What impression will they have of a store that thinks rock music should be played at a whisper? I have heard the cathedral choir and organ play louder than You Animals did this afternoon. Denim Rocks? Denim pebbles more like. I am totally disgusted at the behaviour of the staff in Manchester who allowed this debacle to occur! If you are going to have a rock band playing, you must expect it to be quite loud. I understand that this was pointed out to your people before the band confirmed the date and the band were told this would present no problem. It was after all a promotion called Demin Rocks!
And I am not a teenager, nor even in my 20's or 30's. I am a 53 year old mum whose musical tastes range from hymns and psalms, classical, through folk and pop to rock - some of which is much louder than You Animals could ever produce.
Pleas pass on this email to the store manager at Manchester and the people who are supposedly in charge of this misguided promotion. I await your reply with interest.
Yours Faithfully,
Mrs Lorraine Ashworth.
I am rather annoyed as you can tell - for the band and their fans!
